Dies Irae had a strong opening at the box office, collecting around ₹4.7 crore on its first day. For an A-rated Malayalam horror film, this was a solid start. The buzz around Pranav Mohanlal’s performance and the film’s eerie atmosphere helped pull good crowds, especially in Kerala’s main cities.

The movie picked up pace on Saturday with collections of about ₹5.7 crore, showing a healthy jump from the opening day. Occupancy was good across most theatres, averaging around 64%, and evening shows were almost full in major multiplexes.

Sunday turned out to be the best day so far, with the film earning roughly ₹6.35 crore. Family and youth audiences came out in big numbers, giving Dies Irae a strong weekend total of around ₹16.7 crore. The film’s suspense and visuals were the main talking points among viewers.

As expected after the weekend, Monday saw a drop in collections, bringing in about ₹3 crore. However, it was still considered a decent hold for a weekday. The film crossed the ₹20 crore mark within just four days, which was a great sign for its run.

On Tuesday, Dies Irae collected close to ₹2.6 crore. The movie maintained a steady trend, performing well in urban centres and maintaining consistent occupancy during evening and night shows.

Wednesday added another ₹2.3 crore to the total. The film’s word-of-mouth remained strong, especially among horror fans. Even though collections dipped slightly, the film had already crossed expectations for its genre.

By Thursday, Dies Irae made around ₹1.8 crore, closing its first week with a total of roughly ₹26.4 crore in India. The film had a solid seven-day run and was one of the top-performing Malayalam thrillers of the year.

On its second Friday, the film earned around ₹1.9 crore. The occupancy was moderate, averaging about 22%, with night shows still doing better at nearly 37%. By the end of Day 8, Dies Irae had reached around ₹28.3 crore in total, continuing its strong hold into the second weekend.
