Our Review
Jugnuma is a different kind of drama set in the Himalayas, where a man starts turning into a bird after strange things happen on his farm. Manoj Bajpayee acts brilliantly as the lead, making you feel his confusion and pain, and the movie mixes real life with magic in a slow but interesting way. It’s not fast like usual films, but the beautiful shots and deep story about nature and family make it worth watching if you like thoughtful cinema. Some parts feel long, but overall it’s fresh.
What Worked
- Strong cast with veterans and performers good at character work.
- Unique genre magical realism plus family drama in a scenic, remote setting gives visual & narrative appeal.
- Festival credibility the film has made waves in international festivals.
What Didn’t Work
- Very little box office info yet; opening could be limited due to niche genre.
- Fantasy mystery films often depend heavily on word of mouth if initial reactions are mixed, that could hurt.
- No disclosed budget or marketing spend may limit scale and visibility.
