Raktha Kashmira | Collection & Budget | OTT | Hit/Flop

Raktha Kashmira is a Kannada-language action-adventure thriller directed by S.V. Rajendra Singh Babu and produced under MDM Productions. Released on 30 January 2026 after extensive delays spanning nearly 18 years, the film stars Upendra as the lead, Ramya as the heroine, and Parvati Melton in a supporting role, with archival appearances by Kannada legends like Vishnuvardhan, Ambareesh, and Puneeth Rajkumar in a special song sequence.

The plot centres on a stunt trainer who operates a school for orphans in Bengaluru. When the children uncover a terrorist bombing scheme and are kidnapped to Kashmir, the trainer and his love interest embark on a high-stakes rescue mission, blending patriotism, drama, and intense confrontations. As of 1 February 2026, 10:40 AM IST, the film has completed its opening day, garnering an estimated India gross of ₹2.50 crore on Day 1, primarily from Karnataka theatres where occupancy averaged 30-40% in urban multiplexes like Bengaluru and Mysuru.

Advance bookings contributed modestly, around ₹0.43 crore, driven by curiosity over the long-awaited project and Upendra’s fanbase. Early Day 2 estimates suggest a drop to ₹0.50 crore, pending full reports, as word-of-mouth begins to shape its trajectory. Worldwide collections stand at ₹2.59 crore, with negligible overseas figures. The performance reflects a cautious launch for a delayed star vehicle, with potential for growth if nostalgic elements and patriotic themes resonate amid competition.

Our Review

Raktha Kashmira revives a long-shelved vision from S.V. Rajendra Singh Babu, intertwining themes of heroism, terrorism, and national duty in a plot where orphaned children become unwitting heroes against a bombing conspiracy. Upendra commands the screen with his intense demeanor as the stunt trainer turned rescuer, while Ramya adds emotional grounding to the romantic subplot.

The film’s highlight is an elaborate 18-minute song incorporating archival footage of Kannada icons like Vishnuvardhan, Ambareesh, and Puneeth Rajkumar, evoking nostalgia that resonates deeply with regional viewers. Technical aspects, including Gurukiran’s music and Manohar Joshi’s cinematography, capture the Kashmir locales effectively, though the extended production timeline occasionally reveals dated visual styles.

Early critiques note the film’s patriotic fervor and crowd-pleasing elements, but highlight pacing issues and a sense of outdated execution due to its age. Compared to Upendra’s recent action films that balance innovation with mass appeal, this entry leans on traditional heroism, similar to delayed projects that rely on star loyalty for revival.

The modest opening aligns with expectations for a veteran-led thriller in a crowded market, with potential for steady holds if the rescue sequences and ensemble chemistry sustain interest. Prospects will depend on weekend family turnout and digital amplification, particularly in Karnataka.

Favourable buzz could elevate it to respectable totals; otherwise, it may remain niche. In essence, Raktha Kashmira crafts a bold tribute to resilience and unity, leveraging legacy cameos for emotional pull, with its box office fate tied to evolving audience sentiment.
